Buying A House
Purchasing a home is an incredibly exciting event in one's life. Unfortunately without the right agent it can also be stressful and nerve wracking. Choosing the right representation is key to a successful transaction.
There are many good agents out there who hold a real estate salesperson's license. The state of California requires a sales associate to take a handful of courses and pass an exam before being issued a license that allows them to work under the supervision of a broker. A broker's license requires much more training, education and experience. Once receiving their license, brokers are also allowed to open their own businesses and hire sales associates to work under them.
As a broker associate who graduated from UC Berkeley with honors and distinction holding a degree in Legal Studies, I know the value of diligence, persistence, and pride in reputation. With the backing of the Coldwell Banker name that's become synonymous with professionalism and good work, you are assured that you've made the right decision by choosing me to help find your new home.
How To Begin:
In order to help you find the right home, I need to find out more about you, your living situation and what it is you're looking for. Take a few minutes to use the Search Page to find a few homes that catch your eye. Make note of their MLS number and also take some time to make a list of questions you have for me. We will then schedule an appointment to meet in person and discuss those points and complete the initial paperwork.
The next step is getting pre-qualified. In order to find you a great new home, I need to see an accurate picture of what your employment, credit, and residency history look like. Below is a link to a "Quick Prequalification Form" that we use to get that picture. With this form and $12 per adult resident to pull credit, we will find out what you can afford and if there are any special lending programs you qualify for.
Once those steps are complete we then begin the fun part: searching for and viewing homes. During this step I begin searching and previewing homes that seem to fit your criteria. You will also be spending this time driving through neighborhoods to get a feel for areas and homes that are most appealing to you. Periodically we will schedule viewings where we both meet up to look at properties that survive our weeding out process until we find the one place that "feels like home." At that time we will discuss what it means to put in an offer, the escrow process and closing the transaction.
